You can walk to more good food and drink from here than anywhere else in the metro, and the river path is a few blocks away.

Things you learn by living here.

• Blair Boulevard was once part of the main north-south highway through the Willamette Valley and the principal entrance to the city. It is now a listed historic commercial area with its own zoning overlay.
• The neighborhood is named for John Whiteaker, Oregon's first governor, who bought ten blocks here in 1890.
• Older homes here can carry knob-and-tube wiring, original plumbing, and foundation questions. That is not a reason to avoid the neighborhood, it is a reason to inspect properly.
